1. AIM AND PURPOSE
To visualize the problem of work stress in the pharmaceutical profession and to provide basic concepts and strategies to promote self-care among pharmacist, pharmacy technicians and support staff.

2. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
To identify the main stressors experienced in the working environment of the pharmaceutical professional and analyse their impact on their health and productivity.
To analyse the different lines of research on stress management techniques and behaviours to better cope with chronic stress.
To incorporate stress management concepts and tools to daily life to promote wellness and favour an adequate work-life balance.

STRESS
Definition and contextualization to the community pharmacy environment.
Chronic stress and its implications for physical, mental and behavioural health.
Work stress. Statistics and performance curve. Impact on the organization.

STRESS MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
Mindfulness. Benefits and main areas of research (health, attention, cognition, emotion and behaviour).
Exercise. Stress inoculation and brain balance.
Rest, social interaction and nature (biophilia)

4. KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
Practical tools to cope with stress experienced both in professional and personal life will be demonstrated and practiced during the session.
